Protests erupt across US after Minneapolis nurse killed by ICE

(MENAFN) Demonstrations continued Sunday in Minneapolis and other US cities following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old intensive care nurse Alex Pretti by immigration agents on Saturday.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz described the moment as an "inflection point" for America and reiterated calls for President Donald Trump to withdraw federal immigration agents from the city.

In response, Trump demanded that the governor "turn over all Criminal Illegal Aliens" held in state prisons for deportation.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told a news agency that state officers were prevented from accessing the shooting scene by federal agents, despite possessing a search warrant. He added that law enforcement at all levels in Minnesota has collaborated with federal agencies "for several years," and that the current situation is hindering their ability to continue these investigations.
